Built for The Carron Company and named "No 10", following on from their earlier No 10 sold out of the fleet in 1895, but continuing to trade under the same name and so for a period there were two steam lighters named No 10 on the go in Scottish waters.

She saw war service between 1914 and 1918 based at Rosyth on the Forth, primarily it appears carrying explosives out to the ships of the fleet at anchor in the Firth. Post-war she was sold to Consett Iron Co of Newcastle in 1920 and renamed "Consett Lighter". She was only deleted from the register in 1957.
