Built for the Carron Company, to transport coal and iron ore to their foundry near Falkirk, and to take product from it to the docks on the Clyde and Forth. Also used as a feeder vessel for the Carron Line's steamship services between Grangeounth and London.

In 1922 she was laid up at Burnhouse Basin, Carron befofe being sold to H D Pochin on Manchester in 1924. In 1935 she passed into the hands of John Baxter of Newcastle and was broken up at Dunston on Tyne in 1938.
